Hermit Crab Turnaround
The tender touch of a hermit crab. The loving gaze of a stone.
Background:
Always up for a challenge, I decided to take on AR, compositing, and creature rigging. I was tickled by the idea of a hermit crab--having many legs, falling in love with a smooth, legless stone.
Everything is created by me from scratch. Standard pipeline sculpting in Zbrush, Maya for retopology and UVing, Substance for texture. Composited, rigged, and animated in Cinema4D.
Reflections:
Now knowing Maya, while there's a time and place for C4D, rigging complex characters isn't one of them.
